In these bad air days, temporary measures will not work: CSE

New Delhi, November 8, 2017: On the second day of the worst episode of severe air quality this winter, even as governments went into a huddle to thrash out solutions, Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) cautioned against putting too much hope in temporary solutions such as closure of schools. 

So that we can breathe easy

THE EASIEST way to clear air pollution is to not know how bad it is. This is what India practices—in most parts of the country. There is virtually no equipment to monitor the air we breathe and no system that tells us what we should do when pollution levels are up and unhealthy.
