Centre of Excellence (CoE) Trainings (2014-2015/16)

The Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) has designated Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) as a "Centre of Excellence" (CoE) for sustainable water management, under the "Capacity Building of Urban Local Bodies" (CBULB) scheme.

During 2014-15/16, the centre further developed its portfolio on sustainable urban water management through intensive research and capacity building programmes. The CoE conducted residential training programmes, seminar / workshops, exposure visits and research for mainstreaming best management practices aimed at sustainable urban water management in urban local bodies under the following new key themes: (1) Septage Management (2) Urban Lake Management (3) Water Sensitive Design and Planning (4) Green Infrastructure and (5) Water Efficiency and Conservation.

CSE-COE Phase 1 : 2009-2013

During 2013-16, CSE conducted capacity building programmes on Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) and Decentralised wastewater treatment (DWWT). The training programmes catered the requirements of various groups such as: engineers, planners, architects and other municipal functionaries involved in water management.

Technical Advisory Support
Planning and Designing Sustainable Water Management Practices

Technical Advice for:
• Water sensitive design and planning (WSDP) including rainwater harvesting
• Urban lake management
• Septage Management including Decentralised Wastewater Treatment (DWWT)

Every Friday between 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) provides detailed technical guidance to interested stakeholders to implement sustainable water management practices. If interested, kindly get a prior appointment with the team.
