Pollution axe on chem factory

KOLKATA, December 2: Residents of Lake Town, in the northern fringes of the city, have won themselves a significant victory against a chemical factorythat had made their lives miserable for years. It will come as a morale booster to people in other localities where industrial pollution is wreaking havoc. After repeated pleas from the residents, theWest Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) has ordered the factory - West Bengal Chemical Industries Limited - shut.
