Urban transportation reforms for clean and liveable cities An orientation programme for policy makers

The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is organising a three-day orientation programme in New Delhi from March 22 – 24, 2011 for policy makers from different cities of India and South Asia. The objective of this forum is to promote good regulatory practices in air quality and mobility management. Cities have already begun to develop action plans in response to the air quality management policies, National Urban Transport Policy and the reform agenda of the JNNURM to achieve clean air and sustainable mobility. These along with the state level transportation and clean air action plans have created the policy opportunity for change. This forum will facilitate interaction with a select group of experts and resource persons to capture the learning in the region as well as demonstrate change through field based case studies.
