Time: 9.30 am – 4.30 pm

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is organising an Orientation Workshop on Sustainable Building Approaches and Practices on October 25, 2016 in Hyderabad. This regional workshop is part of our unique initiative that we have launched at the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) to engage with the educator community related to building architecture and planning. The objective is to engage with Teachers and Researcher to support the education curriculum of the architecture colleges in India.

The professional and technical skills needed to cater to the growing demand for green architecture and green building construction and operations are enormous. This event is a part of CSE’s initiative to promote good practices in the building construction sector and habitat management for resource efficiency and sufficiency in Indian cities. This is a new area of governance that demands a new cadre of architects and professionals exposed to the new science and techniques related to new approaches to passive and low energy architecture, sustainable material, building orientation and design, less water intensive structures, reuse and recycling of construction and demolition waste and techniques of assessing energy and resource aspects of building operations. This will also require deeper understanding of the environmental challenges of the building sector within the lager paradigm of resource constraints and climate change. This is designed to enrich skill building of professionals in this area.

This interactive forum will cover a range of issues including:

  • Green Building’s Environment Connection

  • Sustainable building design and  technology

  • Features of the Energy Efficient Building Designs and technologies

  • Building materials and waste

  • Water Conservation and Efficiency Improvements in Buildings

CSE will not charge any registration fee for the workshop and bear the cost of training and meals during the workshop.
