| Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi invites you to the release of its latest ‘State of India’s Environment’ report: Rich Lands, Poor People: Is Sustainable Mining Possible? CSE’s ‘State of India’s Environment’ reports have been widely acknowledged as the most comprehensive and authoritative series of publications on the subject of environment and development in India. The report on mining lives up to the reputation and the promise. Extensively researched and richly illustrated, this 350-page report has been prepared as a state-of-art tome on mining in India, its impacts on environment and people, and the way ahead. |

The release function will be preceded by a press briefing and followed by a panel discussion (see below for detailed Agenda). The occasion is expected to bring together key mining experts, media persons, civil society organisations, regulatory institutions and industry associations to discuss and debate the critical question that the book puts forth: how should mining be done in India.
