Delhi's roads

Recently, travelling on the Delhi roads I found the race for development has crossed all limits with the digging all over the city. The roads are being 'developed' in the name of Commonwealth Games that are going to be held later this year. But no one is really concerned about the 'what after' effect. Right now Delhities seem to have gotton immune to all the disruption on roads, in the anticipation of turning the city into New York of the East. Therefore, small accidents like the recent death of a child in Chirag Delhi, who fell in the MCD dug pit, go un-noticed.

Green CSE

CSE has excellent infrastructure that is appropriate to its needs and is used intensively and maintained very well. 

The buildings have environment friendly architecture that allows for maximum utilization of natural light and air keeping the use of artificial lighting minimal and need for air-conditioning limited to only the peak summer months. 

Recycling paper

CSE is a low paper consumption organization and only a minimal quantity of paper is used each day. While most of the information is exchanged electronically, some amount of printing on fresh paper does take place. However, all fresh A4 printed sheets are meticulously recycled. They are once again used for making photocopies.

Treating solid waste

Solid waste generated in CSE is of three types -  

• Uncooked waste from the canteen comprising mainly of vegetable waste and fruit peels.

• Leftover cooked food waste collected from plates in the canteen and

• Leaf litter from the gardens.
