This on one hand has resulted in the nation building but at the same time has put huge pressure on the environment. The environmental challenges resulted from a combination of the economic challenges and natural hazards such as drought and desertification.
August 4, 2015: Green Rating Team of the Centre for Science and Environment along with JSW Energy Limited conducted a one-day workshop (July 28, 2015) at Barmer to discuss best practices and key issues in efficiency and environment management practices of coal fired power plants.
July 25, 2015: A one-day workshop was organized by the Green Rating Team on Tuesday to discuss the technical issues, protocols and methodologies for adoption of CEMS in India. The workshop was attended by stakeholders from NGOs, pollution control board and industry.
April 7, 2015: As part of its policy advocacy to improve the environmental performance of the India’s coal based thermal power sector, the GRP team organized a half day roundtable in Mumbai to engage key stakeholders from the private sector. The meeting included participants from - project financing institutions, advisory firms, credit rating agencies, power companies, EPC contractors, equipment suppliers and eminent researchers working on the sector.
