Training programme on 'Designing of Rainwater Harvesting for Sustainable Drinking Water Supply System' organised by CSE

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), is the designated National Key Resource Centre for the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India in the year 2013-14, to conduct training programmes and workshops in the area of rural drinking water and sanitation for PHED officials and PRI representatives in Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

The aim of the proposed training programme is to provide hand holding support to the PHED engineers, PRI representatives and other key officials in planning, design and implementation of sustainability in drinking water supply with focus on rainwater harvesting systems (individual / neighbourhood or community level) facilities that can be operated as well as maintained by the communities at less cost. 

The training will focus on planning and designing supported by case studies and emerging knowledge and technology for sustainable rainwater harvesting for rural drinking water supply in the state of Uttar Pradesh (Target districts are: Sitapur, Hardoi, Barabanki, Lucknow, Unnao, Raebareli, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Etawa, Auraiya, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Banda, Fatehpur, Jhansi, Mahoba, Lalitpur and Chitrakoot). 

Target group: PHED / PRI Engineers, WSSO and other officials who are involved in the field of rural drinking water supply and management and can be benefited from the above training programme.
