Clean air planning in the non-attainment cities of Andhra Pradesh: A stakeholder consultation

CSE, in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, is organizing a stakeholder consultation on devising strategies to address the problem of air pollution in the five non-attainment cities (cities that violate air quality standards) of Andhra Pradesh. These cities include the critically polluted and highly industrialized city of Visakhapatnam, the urban centre-Vijayawada, and the rapidly urbanizing cities of Nellore, Guntur and Kurnool.

Industries, vehicles, widespread construction activity and waste burning pose serious threat to the state’s air quality. The objective of this meeting is to bring together officials from regulatory agencies at the state and local level to discuss, and chart a well defined plan to combat these sources.
