Dear readers,

Early heatwaves are becoming 30 times more likely in India and Pakistan due to climate change, according to a study.

As a result, less developed countries are demanding that wealthy countries do more for climate action. Currently the climate goals of G20 countries – who emit 75 percent of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions – are inadequate.

Non-carbon dioxide pollutants like aerosols and methane also contribute to climate change.

This year the monsoon in India may be delayed, and this may lead to water scarcity and food insecurity.

Rainfall will be over 50% below normal in at least 10 major states.

Our new publication STATE OF INDIA’S ENVIRONMENT 2022: IN FIGURES is now available on the CSE Store.
