A weekly digest on impacts, politics and science of the climate emergency; from the Global South perspective. Access our extensive coverage on climate. You can find this newsletter in the web here.
Dear readers,

The World Bank finds that heatwaves in India could soon break the human survivability limit.

In more positive news, the IEA says that India will almost double its renewable power capacity in next 5 years - solar PV accounts for three-quarters of renewable energy growth, followed by onshore wind with 15% and hydropower providing almost all the rest.

Fears that the recent Mauna Loa and Mount Semeru volcanoes eruptions would impact global climate are alleviated since the greenhouse gas emissions from the two eruptions were very small compared to CO2 emissions from fossil fuel burning.

This week we also learn how a Bio-CNG plant helps in reducing air pollution and health issues.
