Centre for Science and Environment, an established research and advocacy institute needs a Programme Director to steer its climate change programme.
Candidate is expected to take lead role in overall research and advocacy and campaign in Climate Change issues. We are looking for a candidate with excellent leadership skills who can come up with strategic, creative ways to address climate change issues, has great interpersonal and collaboration skills, possesses good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and work independently in a cross functional environment.
In particular, the candidate should be able to develop and lead a team into communicating research by writing papers, reports, policy briefs and articles on key issues of mitigation, adaptation, loss and damage, market mechanisms, technology transfer, finance etc. The candidate will be engaged in reviewing global and national policies on climate change and evaluate how they fit into the country's development agenda, obligations and constraints. This position will involve strong networking with government officials, civil society, activists, media to understand ramifications of various existing and proposed policies and develop need-based sectoral strategies and policy requirements/guidelines that will facilitate dialogues among various government and non-government agencies, actors and agents. The candidate would also organize training and capacity building programmeson various themes around climate change issues and summarize and converge multitude of views.
