Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is a public interest research and advocacy organisation based in New Delhi. CSE researches into, lobbies for and communicates the urgency of development that is both sustainable and equitable.
The Centre is looking for a Programme Officer for its Rural Water-Waste Programme. The goal of the programme is to establish policy principles, innovative technologies and implementation strategies for water and wastewater management – to help lay the foundations of a water- and waste-prudent society. The programme has now expanded beyond the boundaries of India to some other nations of the Global South, with the objective of engendering south-south cooperation to exchange information and build capacity in the area of safe sanitation practices, including safe management, treatment and reuse of excreta.
Job profile:
The job will entail high quality research, communication and capacity building efforts to promote sustainable water and waste management in rural areas. The candidate is expected to independently design and build capacity building programmes customized for different stakeholders, travel for research and training programmes as and when required by the programme.
Qualification and Experience:
We are looking for Civil Engineers, Post graduate in Environment/Wastewater Engineering, Hydrogeology or related field with 4 to 6 years of work experience. Candidates with experience in providing technical support for implementation of pilot projects related to water, wastewater/ faecal sludge management will be preferred. Candidates with good writing skills and with the ability to convey technical and policy-related issues analytically and with clarity will be preferred.
The candidate should be willing to travel and have fluency in both English and Hindi.
