The School of Climate Change under the Anil Agarwal Environment Training Institute (AAETI) – a Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) initiative -- invites applications for a fully funded specialised training programme designed for civil society organisations (CSOs) and government agencies/bodies.  

The training will focus on the history of climate change negotiations, as well as on critical themes related to climate change adaptation and mitigation. We will also explore the political and socio-economic forces that determine or hinder our ability to address climate impacts. The goal is to mainstream climate change in development policy across all levels of society and government. 

Some of the key points of discussion and learning that the training will offer: 

  • International climate cooperation: History of international climate negotiations, developments towards COP 26
  • Climate change adaptation: Extreme weather events, impacts, vulnerability, loss and damage, climate finance
  • Climate change mitigation: Emissions from agriculture, forests and land-use (AFOLU), sinks and negative emissions technologies, the energy transition, decarbonizing the transport and power sectors
  • Equitable distribution of climate responsibility

We are seeking nominations for one or more representatives from your organisation to attend this training. All costs starting with transportation from Delhi to Nimli, food, and accommodation will be borne by CSE. 

The applications will be reviewed, and selected participants will be contacted by CSE. 

(Participants must bear the cost of travel to Delhi, if any.)

* AAETI has sufficient classroom and residential facilities to maintain Covid-19 related SOP while onsite training.
