February 2025

Dear Educators, FOREWORD

Greetings from the Green Educators’ Network (GEN) of the Centre for Science and Environment!

We present to you the February edition of our monthly newsletter, EarthWise. As advocates for progressive education in environmental studies, we are committed to providing you with a valuable resource that goes beyond the conventional boundaries of learning.

Like last year, this year’s February edition is extremely special — it contains an exclusive snippet from our soon-to-be-launched annual publication, State of India’s Environment 2025 by CSE’s Director General, Sunita Narain. Backed by four decades of research and publishing history, this annual publication by CSE and Down to Earth covers a wide range of contemporary environmental issues such as climate change, air pollution, biodiversity loss, decarbonisation, etc. The 11th edition of SOE is set to be launched at the Anil Agarwal Dialogue 2025 -- CSE’s annual conclave for journalists writing and reporting on environment and development. Please scroll down if you wish to order a copy of the report.

As we navigate the complexities of environmental studies, we recognise the pivotal role you play in imparting knowledge and fostering a sense of responsibility among your students. In this journey, EarthWise aims to provide you with well-researched articles, resources, and stories to aid your teaching.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback. Please write to us at gen@cseindia.org

Warmly,
The University Programme Team
