March 2025

Dear Educators, FOREWORD

Greetings from the Green Educators’ Network (GEN) of the Centre for Science and Environment!

We present the March edition of our monthly newsletter, EarthWise. As advocates for progressive education in environmental studies, we are committed to providing you with a valuable resource that goes beyond the conventional boundaries of learning.

This month, we are pleased to present The Climate Chronicle, an e-magazine featuring stories authored by students from GEN network institutions. This publication is the culmination of Agenda for Survival, an intensive month-long programme conducted by CSE. As part of this initiative, students engaged in knowledge-building and mentorship sessions led by CSE experts and reported on issues relevant to their local contexts. We invite you to explore their insights on environmental challenges affecting their communities and regions.

As we navigate the complexities of environmental studies, we recognise the pivotal role you play in imparting knowledge and fostering a sense of responsibility among your students. In this journey, EarthWise aims to provide you with well-researched articles, resources, and stories to aid your teaching.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback. Please write to us at gen@cseindia.org

Warmly,
Sakshi Uniyal
The University Programme Team

LEAD STORY

The Climate Chronicle is an e-magazine that brings together stories of environmental change as witnessed and reported by students from GEN network institutions. These narratives are the outcome of Agenda for Survival, an intensive month-long programme by CSE that equipped students with knowledge and mentorship to explore pressing environmental issues in their local contexts. Their stories highlight the challenges and lived realities of communities affected by climate change and propose local solutions. Down To Earth
