Dear Friend,

World Water Day 2021 under the theme ‘valuing water’ was appropriate and timely as we observe the one-year mark of Covid 19 pandemic declaration. We all understand the critical role water plays in fight against infectious diseases but at the same time, the pandemic itself has put at risk some of the gains made in previous years in India and across global south towards achieving the SDGs goals related to water and sanitation.

School of Water and Waste through its series of activities engaged with governments, municipalities, businesses, farmers, civil societies, communities and individuals to inform that it is a shared responsibility of us all – to tap rainwater for in situ water augmentation, decentralised wastewater treatment including local reuse and conservation of water bodies to build resilience in human settlements - including safeguarding ecosystems and the poor, the excluded and the vulnerable.

In this endeavour, we are pleased to put forward this bi-monthly newsletter exhibiting, updates, publications, training, events and more. We look forward to hearing impact stories of change from all our alumni, partners and readers.

Your suggestions and feedback are welcome. Please do share them with us
at: sww-aaeti@cseindia.org

Best regards,
Suresh Kumar Rohilla
Senior Director & Academic Director
