Soft Commissioning of Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) at Chunar

The trial run of 10 KLD Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) at Chunar, Uttar Pradesh started with the soft commissioning of the plant on13th March 2021. CSE being the technical knowledge partner has provided the necessary technical support at all the phases of project implementation to the project executing agency Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam , Chunar Nagar Palika Parishad and the National Mission Clean Ganga in implementing effective FSM interventions aimed at both achieving citywide sanitation and improved river health.

The plant was built at a cost of 2.7 crore and is the first pilot FSTP fully funded by National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG). CSE has provided the technical assistance in the project from inception to execution such as site selection, detailed project report preparation, ensuring quality control in construction and soft commissioning of the plant.

Mr. MC Srivastav General Manager, UP Jal Nigam; Mr. Afzal Khan, Executive Engineer , UPJN (Ganga Pollution and prevention Unit); Dr. Suresh Kumar Rohilla, Senior Director, CSE; Mr. Manish Mishra, Research Associate, CSE; Mr. Rohit, MD, Elefo Biotech (Construction Company); Mr. Mithilesh Verma, SFI, Chunar Nagar Palika Parishad were the prominent people in whose presence soft commissioning of the plant was executed.
