What was 2024 like for India? In pure statistical and environmental terms, it was quite a happening year. Besides being the warmest year on record, most places across India recorded the highest rainfall in 123 years. Extreme weather events took a steady toll on 322 of the 366 days in 2024 – and we are witnessing an alarming spike in them this year! 2024 will also be notorious for having the highest forestland diversion in a decade.
