COP 30 in Belém was dubbed the “Implementation COP”, but the implementation era for multilateral climate processes is far from over. As countries turn from agreeing on goals to delivering on them, the 31st Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 31) will be held in Antalya, Türkiye, from November 9-20, 2026. Türkiye will host the summit and hold the COP Presidency, while Australia will serve as President for Negotiations.
Several key tracks are up for negotiation this year, from adaptation and mitigation to just transition and finance. Beyond the formal negotiations, the Presidency-led Action Agenda also covers significant themes, including the proposed global electrification target of “35 by 2035.”
