About the Training: -
Fecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM) is very much an evolving topic with newer ideas, methodologies, and practices being developed each day. As a Lab within CSE, which engages in the FSSM space with end-users, policymakers, practitioners, professionals, this training event hosted by us intends to provide a platform to teach methodologies in analysis and characterization of faecal sludge, that caters to all sections of the FSSM community mentioned above. This program ‘Basic Laboratory Training in FSSM’ is a stepping stone for other programs hosted by this Lab through the year. The hands-on approach for the program means that participants get to perform the Lab experiments on their own and can hone their skills while working on some of the best equipment in their class.

For this training program, we have in-house experts from CSE who excel in the field of Fecal Sludge Management, Data Interpretation and Advanced Statistical Analysis in Lab work. This training is a coming together of themes that are diverse and have great applicability to field and lab work. The coursework will be intense and over the period of four and a half days, we will focus on basic lab practices as well as approaches in sampling, data interpretation, error analysis etc. Also, our state-of-the-art lab with its array of equipment will be accessible to all and we have included technical demonstrations on them, in our program.

Training Methodology: Mostly hands-on Lab training with some classroom sessions and a field visit inlcuded
