The summer of 2022, one of the hottest in history, has witnessed widespread ozone exceedance, making the air of Delhi-NCR more toxic, according to an analysis conducted by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE). According to the India Meteorological Department forecast Saturday, Delhi is expected to witness heatwave conditions with minimum and maximum temperature likely to settle at 29 degree and 44 degree Celsius respectively. The southwest monsoon Friday advanced into West Bengal, at least four days ahead of its normal onset date and has covered some parts of the sub-Himalayan districts of the state, the Met department said.
