Background
The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), India’s leading public policy research institution is looking to expand its big data analytics work to support their efforts to improve urban environment and combat climate change. For this an Urban Data Analytics Lab (UDAL) has been established under the sustainable cities group of CSE that has been working to reduce the energy and pollution footprint of cities, prepare roadmaps to reduce air pollutionand resource intensity from the transportation, housing, and construction sector, assist the stakeholders in the implementation of energy efficiency and pollution control norms. CSE is looking for a Senior Research Associate to work in UDAL.
Job Profile
The work domain includes data mining and analytics to improve the existing policies on pollution control and energy efficiency of urban environment with focus on but not limited to air quality and building energy.
He/she will need to track and mine data on air pollution, energy consumption, and other environmental parameters in India as well as in other countries, assist the team in researching and analyzing to develop new knowledge to support CSE’s advocacy on sustainable cities. The candidate must be willing to travel both within India and abroad as per the project requirements.
