2nd State Training for Master Trainers: Health and Safety of Sanitation Workers during COVID-19 crisis

CSE has organised a second round of state training for Sanitary Inspectors to ensure Health and Safety during COVID-19 on 4th July 2020. The training was inaugurated by Shri Shiv Pujan Yadav, Addl Commissioner, Directorate of Local Bodies.

The training was attended by Dr Sunil Kumar Yadav, Deputy Director (Training) - Directorate Local Bodies; Shri Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Commissioner, Jhansi Nagar Nigam; Shri Abhishek Rai, DPM, Unnao and around 32 Sanitary Inspectors from Agra, Prayagraj, Jhansi, Unnao, Lakhimpur, Gangaghat and Bakshi Ka Talab.

CSE briefed the officials on the advisories and guidelines issued in relation of COVID-19 by GoI, IEC interventions and good hygiene practices to be followed during COVID-19. A short quiz was conducted for the participants on COVID-19

There was also a session by Mr Dhawal Patil, Ecosan Services Foundation on occupational health and hazards in sewer / septic tank cleaning which included the mechanized cleaning equipment as well as the protection equipment needed for the process.

CSE team would follow-up with the participants to ensure field level orientations and best practices are adopted by the cities.
