CSE organised a roundtable discussion on 'Transport and climate: building an agenda for action' along with the Global Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport in New Delhi on November 18, 2009. This brought together experts, policy makers, and civil society groups to discuss the climate imperatives of the transportation sector.
CSE organised a public dialogue (February 2009) in the city. Titled ‘Clearing the air: An agenda for action’, it brought together policy makers, experts and civil society groups, to discuss how a road-map for pollution control in the city, which has recently seen strong action from the judiciary to contain its rising air pollution.
Neurotoxic petrol additive MMT: Finally banished.The proactive move by the Union Petroleum Minister, Mani Shankar Aiyar, to ascertain the status of the use of the MMT, a manganese-based deadly octane enhancer in petrol, has elicited voluntary admission from the national oil companies that they have stopped blending MMT in petrol.
