Online Training Course Driving clean air: Strategies to reduce emissions from transport

Rapid urbanisation has led to deteriorating air quality in our cities. A total of 130 non-attainment cities/million-plus cities and urban agglomerations are implementing clean air action plans under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) and XVth Finance Commission funds. With increasing motorisation transport sector remains a major contributor to overall pollution concentration, emissions load and public health exposure. Reducing transport emissions has remained a complex challenge and requires multiple strategies for implementation to reduce emissions and decarbonise the transportation sector. 

CSE is organising this online training course for deeper understanding of the strategies needed to reduce emissions from vehicles and urban transport sector. These include technology roadmaps, on-road emissions management to control real-world emissions, phase-out of old vehicles and scrappage for emissions gains and material recovery, fleet renewal, vehicle electrification, sustainable mobility strategies etc. 

Course structure: This course will be conducted on the Moodle and Zoom platform through a variety of tools such as video lectures, classroom exercises, reading materials and resources, audio/visual methods including short films and interviews and interaction with experts.

• Module 2: Technology roadmaps and new generation strategies to control real world emissions
• Module 3: Towards zero-emission electric vehicles
• Module 4: Bus transport reforms and electric mobility in cities
• Module 5: Integrating active mobility, parking management and low emission zones
• Module 6: Transport and mobility data analytics  

The self-paced online training course has been designed in such a way that it can be completed along with a regular job or study
