At the 9th India International Water Week (IIWW 2026) at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, Dr. Sumita Singhal from CSE’s Water Programme joined sector leaders for Task Force 4 on “Treated Wastewater Reuse Across Sectors.”
Bringing together representatives from policy, industry and academia, the session examined the opportunities and challenges around scaling wastewater reuse.
In her presentation, Dr. Singhal highlighted an important next step for states that have notified reuse policies. While states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Kerala have recently notified State Reuse Policies, these need to be translated into executable City Reuse Action Plans.
