On the sidelines of the New York Climate Week 2026 from September 20-27, the Planetary Guardians will release the 2026 Planetary Health Check. The Guardians are part of a global collective of world leaders, scientists and activists dedicated to safeguarding the Earth’s life support systems using the planetary boundaries framework. Narain is one of the Guardians. The collective counts former UNFCCC executive secretary Christiana Figueres; former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and Ireland President Mary Robinson; and the late actor Robert Redford among its members.
