Programme Officer for Clean Air and Sustainable Mobility Programme

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), is a public-interest research and advocacy organization based in New Delhi. It is known for its rigorous research and advocacy on environmental and sustainable development issues. CSE is currently seeking a Programme Officer for its Clean Air and Sustainable Mobility Programme who is passionate to drive change, embrace innovation, and aspire to make a positive impact on the environment. 

Work Profile: 

  • Carry out evidence-based research in the field of clean air and climate change, financial planning and economic instruments for environmental planning, climate mitigation and adaptation actions in the sectors of transport and mobility.
  • Provide technical support to partner states in terms of sharing technical knowledge, carry out technical assessment, coordination and handholding with the representatives etc.
  • Design and build capacity building programmes customized to the needs of regulators and different target groups in the area of air quality management and sustainable transportation.
  • Travel for research, meetings, trainings and associated activities as required by the programme. 

Core competencies: 

  • Have a strong analytical background and domain experience of at least 3-4 years in the field of urban/ transport/ economics/ environmental planning or management.
  • Have a graduate/ post-graduate degree in economics/ planning/ engineering/ management studies from a reputed institution. 

Preferred essential skills: 

  • Knowledge of conducting economic analysis and application of using economic models to support decision making.
  • Use of data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI/ Tableau/ Python/ R or similar software.
  • Knowledge of using spatial and graphical software like ArcGIS, Q-GIS or similar for the project. 

Experience: 

  • 3-4 years of experience relevant to the sector.
  • Candidates with lesser experience will be considered for junior positions.
