CSE and RCUES sign MoU for capacity building for Urban Water and Sanitation in Uttar Pradesh

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) has been providing Programme Support to Department of Urban Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh for Citywide Sanitation. Capacity Building is an important component of this initiative.

Regional Centre for Urban and Environmental Studies (RCUES) Lucknow is one of the premier centres in the country providing training, capacity building, research and consultancy services in the urban sector.

CSE and RCUES signed an MoU for capacity building for Urban Water and Sanitation in Uttar Pradesh.  This collaboration between RCUES and CSE would work on capacity building of state and non-state actors for the following areas:

  • Citywide Sanitation Planning including preparing Shit Flow Diagram for onsite / off sewage and effective septage management including local reuse/ endues.
  • Urban Water Conservation including Urban Waterbodies / Lake Planning & Management.
  • Water Sensitive Urban Design & Planning for mainstreaming rainwater harvesting.
  • Integrated Urban Water Management for making smart and water sensitive cities in wake of climate change.
