Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is one of Asia’s leading research and advocacy organization working in the field of environment protection. CSE has set up a state-of-the-art laboratory for pollution monitoring, septage management and food contamination. The laboratory is situated at CSE’s residential campus at Nimli, Alwar, Rajasthan – about 100 km from Delhi and 60 km from Gurugram.

The Laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art equipments for microbiology analysis and for the monitoring and analysis of air, water and food contamination, including Gas Chromatograph with Mass Detector (GC-MS) High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrophotometry (ICP-OES), CHNS Analyzer, Real time PCR, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, Bomb Calorimeter etc. 

Job profile

The researcher will work in the pollution monitoring and food contamination unit of the Environment Monitoring Laboratory. She/he will be involved in designing cutting-edge research studies and carrying out sampling and analysis of organic/ inorganic pollutants in food and environmental samples. 

Qualification and experience 

FSM & Waste Water Laboratory Division 

Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years experience in reputed Microbiology/ Environmental Lab. Experience in waste water analysis and microbiology will be preferred. Candidate should be familiar with laboratory data/information management systems & Lab NABL accreditation procedure.

Qualification – M.Sc / PhD in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Environmental Science. 

Job Description: 

Involvement in projects on Faecal Sludge Management & Waste water treatment.

The Environment Monitoring Laboratory has set-up a laboratory for Faecal Sludge/ Septage management. This lab is involved in the characterization of Faecal Sludge/ Septage, monitoring of decentralized wastewater/ faecal sludge treatment systems, conducting cutting-edge research and carrying out documentation on decentralized technologies and knowledge support on demonstration projects in targeted areas.

The Researcher, will be responsible for coordinating and managing the faecal sludge/ septage management laboratory. The job profile also includes managing and carrying out sampling and analysis of faecal sludge / septage samples, development of protocols for faecal sludge characterization and performance testing of decentralized treatment technologies, thus helping in designing and maintenance of wastewater and septage management systems.  

Salary and designation will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
