The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) has undertaken the development of comprehensive City-Level Action Plans for the safe reuse of treated water in selected cities across India. Prayagraj was chosen as one of the initial cities for this initiative.
The preparation and implementation of the City-Level Action Plan for the reuse of treated water is a critical step towards strengthening the circular economy and aligning with the objectives of AMRUT 2.0 and the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG).
Two consultation meetings were held in Prayagraj on 15 July and 4 September 2025 to discuss and build consensus on the City-level Reuse Action Plan, being developed for Prayagraj by CSE with support from NMCG
Both the meetings were chaired by Seelam Sai Teja, IAS, Commissioner, Prayagraj Municipal Corporation, and featured active participation from representatives of various departments, who shared valuable insights and suggestions to strengthen the plan.
The Municipal Commissioner extended full support to the initiative and urged all departments to collaborate closely in preparing a comprehensive and effective CLRAP.
