CSE 's Round Table on Mercury Pollution in Sonbhadra

Pollution in Sonbhadra area is not new and has been talked about for many years but no action has been taken to check the pollution. This has led to long term health impacts which have now started to show up in the population of the region. CSE took up a study to look at these health impacts and to investigate the possible causes.

EIA Analysis for Grain/Molasses based distillery along with a Co-generation Power Plant by Malwa Brew & Alcohols (India) Pvt. Ltd., Khargone, Madhya Pradesh

 Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) carried out a technical analysis of the Executive Summary of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for the proposed Grain/Molasses based distillery and a Co-generation Power Plant (2.2 MW) by Malwa Brew & Alcohols (India) Pvt. Gorakhpur nuclear power plant makes headway

The government seems to be succeeding in pushing through the proposal to build a nuclear power plant in Fatehabad district of Haryana. Much of the opposition seems to have melted away after the farmers affected by the project received compensation at the rate of Rs 46 lakh per acre (0.4 hectare) from the Haryana government. 

National Green Tribunal stalls POSCO

In a stirring judgement passed by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the green signal given to South Korea’s Pohang Iron and Steel Company (POSCO) to go-ahead with their mega steel project in Odisha has been suspended.
