Zinc, nickel plating units will not need SAC nod: PPCB chief

Ludhiana, August 13: Although the written orders are yet to come, Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) Chairman Ravinder Singh has announced the electroplating units doing nickel and zinc plating and having machinery cost upto Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh respectively now need not get clearance from the Site Appraisal Committee (SAC).

Biomedical waste incinerator proposed for city

Kochi, August 12: The Kerala Enviro Infrastructure Limited, which runs a Common Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility (CHWTSDF) at Ambalamedu, has submitted a detailed project report to the State government and the State Pollution Control Board seeking approval to set up an incinerator for the treatment and disposal of biomedical waste. 

State ranks 6th in green index
