Odisha’s nod for green hydrogen, RE projects

The High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) committee of the Odisha government on January 19th, 2023, approved the proposal of ACME Clean Energy, which entails an investment of Rs 58,209.13 crore. It proposes to set up a green hydrogen plant as well a green ammonia plant with a capacity of 1.1 million tonne, at Kujanga, Jagatsinghpur and a captive renewable energy unit of 4500 MW solar power Plant at Koraput and Kalahandi district. A proposal of Avaada Green H2 at Ganjam district was also approved---it is likely to provide employment opportunities to about 1,500 people in the state. Additionally, HLCA okayed two other projects in the green energy and equipment sector---Renew EFuels Private Limited (REFPL) and Ocior Energy Private Limited which aims to provide employment to over 3,300 people of Odisha.
