There is no effective integrated policy to control the use of antibiotics in food-producing animals with a viewpoint of containing antibiotic resistance. While the regulatory measures adopted by certain countries such as Sweden and Denmark date back to 1980s and 1990s respectively, the state of regulatory landscape in India is far behind.
