Residential Training Programme: Leveraging Agroecology for Livelihood

Agriculture faces growing challenges from climate change, biodiversity loss, declining soil health and changing markets. Agroecology offers a pathway to build more climate-resilient farming systems while conserving biodiversity, strengthening livelihoods, and creating new opportunities for farmers.

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) invites applications for a two-day training programme that will help practitioners explore practical approaches to agroecology and biodiversity-based livelihoods. The training will focus on experiences and solutions from across India. The deliberations at the programme are expected to inform recommendations for policy improvement.

HOW WILL THE PRACTITIONER BENEFIT?

The training aims to create a cadre of practitioners who:

• Understand the importance of agrobiodiversity for farming, food systems and livelihoods
• Explore practical agroecological approaches that enhance climate resilience
• Learn from successful experiences
• Understand opportunities for value addition, product development and market access
• Know ways to leverage policy and institutional support
• Are a part of networks for collaboration and knowledge exchange
• The practitioner will also get access to a wealth of CSE resources and content material.
