Training programmes on Bus Transport Reforms: Policies and Strategies and Safe Access and Parking Strategies for Liveable Cities

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is organising training programmes on bus transport, safe access and parking strategies (see below the details). This programme represents our initiative to promote good regulatory practices in air quality and mobility management focusing on bus transport, non-motorised transport, road safety, safe accessibility and car restraint measures.

This interactive forum will cover lectures, class room exercises and field visits on a range of issues including:

  • Reorganisation and modernisation for a scaled up bus transport system
  • Bus technology roadmap
  • Public transport system evaluation, benchmarking, performance  and network development
  • City bus operations, maintenance and route rationalisation

  • Bus rapid transit system planning and evaluation techniques
  • Multimodal integration

Date: December 12 – 14, 2016
Venue: CSE, 41 Tughlakabad Institutional Area, New Delhi

This interactive forum will cover lectures, class room exercises and field visits on a range of issues including:

  • Understanding challenges of urbanisation and motorisation
  • Role of NMT in integrated mobility management
  • Planning for NMT inclusive transport to enhance accessibility and safety
  • Street design to influence travel choices
  • Road safety, accessibility, street audits and design alternatives
  • Bicycle sharing system design, operation and management
  • Pedestrianisation projects
  • Car restraint measures to reduce travel demand
  • Parking policy as travel demand management measure
  • Parking pricing
  • Parking system planning, management and enforcement
  • Use of ITS for parking efficiency enhancement


Please note:
There is no course fee for these training programmes. Participants will get a certificate on completion of each training.
