| After the failure of a few earlier initiatives (such as drip irrigation due to storms etc) the community got together to think of practices that would re-think the utilization of water for horticulture. Earlier, tankers were hired for horticulture use at the monthly cost of Rs. 3000 approximately. Gravis came forward to assist and fund the households with the idea of re-use of wastewater. They provided fencing material and seeds for re-use of kitchen and bathing water to irrigate kitchen gardens around houses. A permanent underground pipe is laid from the house to these gardens where native fruits such as anar, goonda, lemon, ber etc are grown for household consumption. | |
