The City-Level Reuse Action Plan (CLRAP) for Prayagraj presents a plan for the city to transition from a “treat-and-dispose” approach to “treat-andreuse” approach for safe reuse of treated water. Developed through extensive data analysis, field assessments, and stakeholder consultations, the plan identifies priority sectors, reuse opportunities, and infrastructure needs across ten sewage treatment plants in the city.
By aligning with national frameworks such as the National Framework for Safe Reuse of Treated Water by the National Mission for Clean Ganga, the Action Plan identifies priority reuse sectors across agriculture, industry, power generation, and public infrastructure. It highlights four highpriority projects with multiple reuse opportunities and outlines a roadmap for maximizing the reuse of treated water. The plan aims to enhance water security, reduce pressure on freshwater sources, and promote a circular water economy.
This action plan serves as both a practical guide and a replicable model for other cities striving toward circular and resilient water management in India.
