Guidelines for Improving Treatment Plant Utilization

For improving capacity utilization of FSSM plants in UP, a simple guideline document on estimation of desludging potential and implementation of Scheduled Institutional Desludging plan was prepared by CSE which was later issued by UP state government. The documents provides a step by step process which a Urban Local Body (ULB) can refer to prepare and implement a scheduled desludging plan for all the government owned and managed establishments. The plan, then can be referred by the vacuum tanker operator to provide desludging services to already decided establishment on daily basis. Thus, ensuring a minimum percentage of emptied sludge on daily basis that can ensure improved treatment plant utilization.
