NCAP has helped create a regulatory framework driven by a clean air target, performancelinked funding, assessment and ranking of on-ground action, and a reporting mechanism for cities that are needed to accelerate clean air action. While there are challenges that are slowing down the movement towards meeting clean air targets, evidence of good practices is also emerging – this is providing the guidance on what is needed to make a difference.
Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is convening a national conference to identify, assess and celebrate these good practices as part of its effort to understand the solutions -- even as the clean air agenda needs to move more purposefully from policy to implementation of multi-sector action. Policymakers, implementing agencies, practitioners, civil society, industry, transport planners, waste managers and financial experts are expected to come together at the conference to capture the learning curve.
