Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), an established research and advocacy institute, is looking for a Programme Officer for its Environment Education Unit (EEU).
About the Unit:
CSE’s Environment Education unit fosters environmental literacy and meaningful environmental education by moving beyond theories and textbook knowledge to ‘learning by doing’ and get students and educators actively involved with the environment.
Its two programmes, Green Schools Programme (GSP) and University Programme (UP),engage with school and college students, teachers and green educators to impart an understanding of environment-development linkages through the audit of practices and infrastructure of campuses, as well as pedagogical interventions to build capacities of educators.

The Green Schools Programme was launched in 2006 with the objective of using schools as a tool to make basic and long term changes in the mindset and lifestyle of the school community. While environment-specific academic background will be an advantage, what is really required is the capacity to connect everyday activities and issues with an environmental point of view.
Candidates with experience of 7-10 years in similar capacity may apply soon. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skill sets.
