INSTRUMENTATION

Gas Chromatography (GC)

Gas chromatograph- Thermoquest -Trace GC -2000 coupled with autosampler and three detectors - Electron Capture Detector, Flame Ionization Detector and Thermal Conductivity Detector.

High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

High Performance Liquid Chromatograph - Hewlett Packard HP 1100 series, fully automated equipped with advanced software with a diode array detector. It has a quaternary gradient pump which includes on line vacuum degasser and the manual injector includes on line Rheodyne 7725 i 7- port sample injection valve.

UV-VIS SPECTROPHOTOMETER

A double beam UV-VIS spectrophotometer, Cintra-5 model, which enables fixed point measurement (single wavelength, multi-wavelength, concentration photometric measurement), wavelength scanning and time scanning.

Respirable Dust Sampler (RDS)

The respirable dust sampler is a stainless steel instrument, which draws the air by the help of high flow rate blower at the nominal flow rate between 1.1 to 1.5 cubic meter per minute. As the air passes through the cyclone inside the RDS, coarse and non-respirable dust is separated from air stream by centrifugal force acting on the solid particles and collects inside the sampling bottle. The size of this type of dust varies from 10 microns to 100 microns. On the other hand fine dust whose diameter is less than 10 microns passes to the filter paper.

Other Instruments

pH Meter, DO Meter, Conductivity & TDS Meter, Turbiditimeter and Ion Specific electrode, Mercury Analyzer
