Residential Training Programme: Application of Smart Tools in Planning, Designing and Monitoring Water and Sanitation Services

This event is complete

Traditional water and sanitation management systems are no longer sufficient to meet the growing demands of urban populations. Aging infrastructure, inefficiencies in monitoring, and fragmented operations lead to frequent service disruptions, water losses and inadequate wastewater treatment. Manual methods lack real-time insights, making it difficult to detect problems, optimise resources, and ensure system reliability. Smart, technology-driven solutions are essential to transform water management. Advanced digital tools, IoT-based sensors, and data analytics can improve decision-making, reduce operational failures, and ensure seamless, equitable access to clean water and sanitation services.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing support effective resource planning, while IoT sensors, AI, Machine Learning, and Big Data Analytics enable real-time monitoring and predictive analytics for optimised water management. Additionally, SCADA, Smart Meters, Digital Twin Technology, and Blockchain are transforming automation, transparency, and decision-making in water governance, driving efficiency and long-term sustainability.

To strengthenthe capacity of practitioners in adopting these advanced solutions, Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is inviting registrations for its four-day Residential Training on ‘Application of Smart Tools for Planning, Designing and Monitoring Water and Sanitation Services’. This training will provide professionals with hands-on expertise in leveraging state-of-the-art tools and technologies for efficient resource management, infrastructure monitoring, and sustainable water and wastewater solutions.

Training methodology

This training will follow an interactive, hands-on approach, combining expert-led sessions, video documentaries, case studies, and practical group exercises. Participants will get a chance to explore GIS tools and AI-driven analytics.
