India’s rooftop solar (RTS) sector holds immense potential for shaping energy consumption from cleaner distributed energy sources. But although multiple schemes and programmes have been launched to give the sector a leg up, the cumulative capacity addition has not registered an appreciable increase -- it is under 17 gigawatt (GW). The sector remains plagued by poor growth of installations, financing pitfalls, concerns about payment security, and inconsistent regulatory practices, all of which together have hindered large-scale adoption.
Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) invites all to its webinar on the subject. The webinar will host an illustrious panel of experts who will discuss issues ranging from how can metering arrangements be aligned for diverse end-consumers in order to maximise utility from RTS; how can various business models be leveraged and regulatory frameworks harmonised; and what lessons can be drawn from global and national experiences on demand aggregation, financing and implementation.
