Urban Water unit at Centre For Science and Environment successfully completed Residential Training Programme on “Operation and Maintenance of Faecal Sludge and Co-Treatment Plants from 20th to 23rdSeptember 2022”.
A total of 31 participants arrived at CSE head office on 20th September 2022. Post arrival, we departed from Delhi to AAETI forfurther sessions.
The day one of the training started with room mapping exercise followed by a context setting and keynote address by Mr. Depinder Singh Kapur, Programme Director at CSE. Mr. Dhawal Patil- Saniverse and Mr. Puneet Kumar- Huber were the external speakers on Day 1. The first half of the day focused on the context setting on the importance of O&M, defining issues and challenges during the implementation of a FSSM project, UP journey in FSSM, Fundamentals and overview of FSSM, overview of different FSSM technologies, planning of O&M in FSSM and O&M of screw press technology. The second half of the day focussed on O&M at treatment facilities.In later evening a self paced chaat party was organised by AAETI management.
On day two, we had with us threeexternal speakers from reputed organisations like Mr. Dhawal Patil- Saniverse, Mr. Snehit Prakash- Blue Water Company, Mr. K C Rao- Wash I and Dr. Smita Singh from KAM foundation. The first half of the day 2 covered the sessions on O&M of Tiger Bio Filter Technology, Overview of different de-sludging techniques and machineries, case studies from India, Occupational Health and Safety in FSSM. The second half of the day 2 covered anExercise on Financial Sustainability, Laboratory aspects of FSSM and wastewater followed by the laboratory visit and AAETI Green Features.
Day three started with the success stories at Chunar and Bijnor, exercise on the action plan from the participants to manage the septage efficiently in their cities and the training concluded by the certificate distribution.
