A two-day training programme on Environmental and Social (E&S) Responsibility in Project Financing was conducted by Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi, India in collaboration with the IIM, Kashipur and the World Bank Group. There were 50 participants from various banks, financial agencies, research institutes and universities, and consulting firm, all of whom were trained during the programme.
The two week programme on “Waste Management: Policies, Issues, Challenges and Way Forward”, was held in New Delhi from December 7-18, 2015 under the tripartite agreement between CSE, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The fast growing economy, rapid industrialization and growing urban population in India along with increasing wastewater generation are reasons for concern and reiterate the need for appropriate water management practices. Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) realizing the need of the above and importance of the water conservation for the better of environment, organized a five day training programme aimed at giving practical exposure to participants on wastewater treatment for industrial and urban wastewater management including reuse and recycle.
The programme on ‘Best Practices in Environmental Governance’ wasjointly conducted by the Centre for Science and Environment, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) and the Norwegian Environment Agency (NEA) from 1-17 October, 2015 in New Delhi, Sweden and Norway. //
A three-day training programme on Hazardous Waste Management was conducted by Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB), Tamil Nadu in Chennai. The event took place in the Cleopatra Banquet Hall, at the Checkers Hotel in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Thirty-nine senior, mid-level and newly recruited officials from the TNPCB attended the training programme.
A two-weeks training programme on Mine Management and Compliance Assurance was conducted by Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi, India in collaboration with the Geological Survey and Mine Bureau (GSMB), Sri Lanka, from 14 to 25 September 2015. There were 7 GSMB officials, and 9 consultants from private organizations like GSMB Technical Services (Pvt.) Ltd, Master Holdings (Pvt.) Ltd., CML – MTD (Pvt.) Ltd., and Business Promoters & Partners Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd.,.
