ABOUT THE TRAINING
Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM) is an evolving field with continual development and improvement happening in research methodologies. This course focuses on some of the more recent advances in lab analysis and data interpretation. This training is part of the CSE and Bill Melinda Gates Foundation collaboration on FSM in India. In-house experts and lab scientists from CSE's Environment Monitoring Laboratory (EML) will guide participants through the sessions and help them learn lab analysis using state-of-the-art equipment and methods. The training will be held in CSE's residential campus in Nimli, near Alwar.

WHAT WILL THE TRAINING OFFER

This programme is meant to provide a very focused and intensive handson training experience for participants from the FSM community.

  • Focused hands-on training on helminth eggs characterisation and testing in faecal sludge.
  • Training on microbial (faecal coliform, E.coli) analysis.
  • Enumeration of bacteriophage in the faecal sludge and septage, an indicator for pathogenic viruses.

Course fee and facilities
The course is fully sponsored by CSE, and participants will not be charged anything. This support will cover the cost of stay, including all meals, from the evening of Sunday (January 31st) till the afternoon of Friday (February 5th). Participants should plan their travel accordingly.
Transportation
: Participants shall only be provided ground transport for Delhi-AAETI-Delhi. All other travel expenditure is to be borne by the participants. Only the selected candidates would be informed. The course organiser's decision on the selection will be final.
Preference will be given to those who attended CSE’s online lab training in June and July 2020
